Local job seekers are encouraged to apply to receive training in the Contra Costa College Forklift, Logistics, Operations and Warehouse program (FLOW) program.
The FLOW program is holding an orientation on Aug. 27 for the training program at Contra Costa College, which runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, from Aug 27 to Oct. 19.
The 10-week career-training program teaches students how to work with forklifts and pallet jacks, and helps them gain valuable digital literacy skills and foundational knowledge of warehouse operations.
Eligible participants must have lived in California for at least one year and one day, have a valid California I.D. or driver’s license, have a 7th grade reading and math level, be able to pass a drug test and are willing to respect attendance and behavior policies.
The program emphasizes interpersonal skills, reliability and professionalism, OSHA and Hazmat certification and job placement assistance.
