Dow’s Silvadur Antimicrobials awarded Bluesign certification

Collegeville, Pa. – Silvadur Antimicrobials, a patented antimicrobial technology for textiles and apparel, received certification from the global textile industry standards organization, Bluesign system.

Silvadur Antimicrobials, which is part of the Dow Microbial Control business unit of DowDuPont Specialty Products Division, provide odor protection in textile and apparel products.

“Being a Bluesign partner is one of the many steps we are taking to assure textile and apparel manufacturers and brands—as well as their engaged customers—that products treated with Silvadur do not compromise human health or harm the environment,” said Karel Williams, textiles business segment director for Dow Microbial Control.

Bluesign, part of Bluesign Technologies AG in Switzerland, oversees the global textile supply chain to ensure chemicals and other materials are safe for consumers, workers and the environment.
