What you will need: 

  • 2+ years’ experience with database marketing, direct marketing or interactive marketing environments. 
  • 2+ years’ experience writing detailed business and functional requirements 
  • 1+ years’ working in an Agile environment, with demonstrated ability to clearly articulate User Stories and Conditions of Satisfaction to development teams 
  • 3+ years’ experience working in an external client facing environment 
  • 2+ years’ experience with the solution development lifecycle 
  • 3+ years’ experience using Microsoft Office Software 
  • Basic SQL Experience/ Skills Desired

This position is open to County Employees & the General Public. 

STARTING SALARY: $33,330 – $37,897 

DEPARTMENT: Sheriff/Detention (2400) 

This position is designated as a safety sensitive position pursuant to Arkansas Act 593. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY/FUNCTION: Responsible for providing security in the detention of inmates within the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility ensuring compliance with federal, state and local statutes, ordinances, and regulations. 

EXAMPLES OF WORK: 

  • Conducts daily inspection and maintenance of housing units and facility to ensure proper security. 
  • Performs security and direct supervision duties within inmate housing units to maintain custody and control the activities of inmates; remains constantly alert for prisoner disruptions such as escape planning, fighting, thefts, suicide attempts, and other prohibited activity. 
  • Maintains a complete and accurate count of all inmates and their locations within the facility; conducts updated count of inmates and unit checks periodically throughout shift. 
  • Orients inmates to housing units ensuring all inmates understand facility rules. 
  • Maintains schedules for inmates allowing exercise times, meals, showering, class attendance, medical visits, unit cleaning, laundry exchange, mail delivery, and visitation at appropriate times; documents inmates’ activities and movements within the facility. 
  • Conducts surveillance, unit searches and shakedowns to locate and confiscate any fabricated weapons and contraband; inspects and inventories all cleaning products, tools, equipment, bedding, clothing, and medical equipment. 
  • Prepares written incident reports documenting rule violations, offenses, or unusual events; testifies at disciplinary hearings and in court as needed. 
  • Completes daily and weekly jail reports, inmate activity reports, incident reports, court lists, and correspondence with the courts; inputs information into computer system. 
  • Responds to emergencies such as fights, hostage incidents, riots, and incidents involving aggressive and combative inmates; uses force in restraining inmates as needed. 
  • Provides security for medical staff during distribution of medicine and physical examinations. 
  • Receives and searches incoming inmates; reviews admission forms for completeness and accuracy before booking inmates; completes paperwork for admittance and enters inmate information into computer; fingerprints and photographs inmates; transmits fingerprints to other law enforcement agencies. 
  • Performs required screenings, collection and inventory of property; ensures inmates are showered, dressed in issued clothing, and given unit supplies and identification badges. 
  • Transports inmates to appropriate areas in facility such as medical clinic, classes, library, and barbershop; maintains security at all times and ensures departmental rules and regulations are enforced. 
  • Monitors facility operation within the central control room by the operation of technical equipment such as cameras, door lock controls, etc. 

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

Work is performed primarily within a controlled detention environment. Constant supervision and surveillance is necessary to avoid dangerous confrontations and ensure personal safety. Duties may involve occasional restraint of hostile or combative detainees. Transportation of inmates to other facilities is required. Work is performed on a variable shift basis. Overtime may be required. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

Completion of high school or GED equivalency. 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Jail Minimum Standards within one year from the date of hire. 
  • No felony convictions. 
  • 21 years of age. 
  • Arkansas Driver’s License (or ability to immediately obtain license). 
  • Must obtain and maintain CPR Certification. 
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to provide proof when requested by the Sheriff’s Department. 
  • Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of the following pre-employment requirements: criminal background check, traffic offense check, sexual offender check, child maltreatment check, adult maltreatment check and drug test by appropriate licensed agencies.

JOB TITLE: Housekeeping Supervisor 

JOB DUTIES: 

  • Cleaning resident rooms, community areas, and other work areas so that health standards are met. This includes cleaning floor coverings, emptying trash receptacles, and cleaning furniture and equipment. 
  • Complete laundering tasks as needed. 
  • Assisting other facility staff with serving and meal delivery 
  • Carry linens, towels, toilet items, and cleaning supplies, using wheeled carts; keeping storage areas and carts clean and tidy; Replenishing cleaning supplies and bathroom items as needed; 

  • Move and arrange furniture and turn mattresses 

  • Observe precautions required to protect residents’ and guests’ property, and report damage, theft, and found articles to Administration. 

  • Prepare rooms for meetings, and arrange decorations, media equipment, and furniture for social or business functions. 

  • Maintain a positive and friendly work environment and respond to resident requests promptly and courteously. 

  • Manage the housekeeping staff 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) is preferred. 
  • Must meet all healthcare requirements, including Tuberculosis skin test 

  • Must be in positive standing with all healthcare agencies, including the Employment Clearance Registry and Adult Maltreatment Registry

JOB TITLE: CNA’s (multiple FT and PT positions listed on website below) 

JOB DUTIES:

  • Provides individualized attention to resident’s daily personal care needs, which may include grooming, bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, incontinence, and other needs in keeping with their care requirements. 
  • Assisting residents with lifts, moves and transports, using proper body mechanics or lifting devices for accident prevention. 
  • Responding to inquiries relating to requests from residents, visitors and other personnel promptly and courteously within given time frames and established policy 
  • Adhering to assigned resident rotation daily to assist in needs and ensure cleanliness of the resident and resident rooms. This may include cleaning rooms and/or laundering. 
  • Is knowledgeable of the individualized care plan for residents, and provides support to the residents according to their care plan. Contributes to the care planning process by providing the charge nurse or other care planning staff with specific information and observations of the residents’ needs and preferences. 
  • Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with the residents, visitors, families, peers and supervisors promoting a homelike environment. 
  • Fully understands all aspects of residents’ rights, including the right to be free of restraints and free of abuse. Is responsible for promptly reporting to the charge nurse or administrative staff incidents or evidence of resident abuse or violation of residents’ rights. 
  • Performs all job responsibilities in accordance with prescribed safety and infection control procedures, including thorough hand washing, use of disposable gloves where indicated and proper disposal of soiled materials. Also providing care that maintains each resident’s skin integrity to prevent pressure ulcers, skin tears and other damage by changing incontinent residents, turning, repositioning immobile residents and by applying moisturizers to fragile skin and other areas. 
  • Performs various tasks assigned by the charge nurse, including checking vital signs, weighing residents, applying creams/ointments and collecting specimens. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) is required.  
  • Certified Nursing Assistant Certification required 

  • Completion of Nursing Assistant Competency Evaluation Program for Long Term Care Facility preferred. 

  • Must meet all healthcare requirements, including Tuberculosis skin test 

  • Must be in positive standing with all healthcare agencies, including the Employment Clearance Registry and Adult Maltreatment Registry 

  • Assisted Living Facility experience preferred.
