ROCKFORD — Rockford Mayor Tom McNamara recently named Todd Hughes as director of information technology.
Hughes fills the role of Director Glenn Trommels, who will retire in January after more than 18 years with the city. Starting as information services manager, Trommels became the city’s first information technology director when the IT department was officially created in 2006.
Hughes comes to the city from Winnebago County, where he has worked for 16 years, serving as application manager and, most recently, manager of IT integration. He is cyber security-certified by the Global Information Assurance Certification Organization, the certification body of the SANS Institute, and is a certified project manager.
