Schneider Electric Earns 2019 ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year

WASHINGTON, April 10, 2019 /PRNewswire/ — Schneider Electric, the leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, today announced it has received the 2019 ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence Award for superior contributions to ENERGY STAR. The company will be recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. on April 11, 2019 for its continued leadership in supporting clients to achieve ENERGY STAR certification.

ENERGY STAR certification services are delivered by Schneider Electric’s Energy and Sustainability Services (ESS). In 2018, ESS supported hundreds of its clients—including more than 200 school districts, county and city governments, and other non-commercial entities—to benchmark more than 25,000 properties, a growth of nearly 10,000 properties over the prior year. More than 600 of these properties earned ENERGY STAR certification, including 11 properties which certified for the first time. In total, over $3M in energy savings was identified.

“Efficiency is a primary lever for profitability and growth in today’s disruptive, global energy landscape,” said John Hoekstra, Vice President, Sustainability and Cleantech Services for Schneider Electric.  “Energy benchmarking through programs like ENERGY STAR remains one of the most effective energy management strategies to reduce emissions, save energy and drive business value.  We’re proud to have achieved this prestigious designation by supporting our clients in furthering their climate action and economic goals.”

The highest honor among ENERGY STAR Awards is the ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year—Sustained Excellence Award. EPA presents the Sustained Excellence Award to partners that have already received ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year recognition for a minimum of two consecutive years and have gone above and beyond the criteria needed to qualify for recognition. Winners hail from small, family-owned businesses to Fortune 500 organizations – representing energy-efficient products, services, new homes, and buildings in the commercial, industrial, and public sectors.

“I applaud the 2019 ENERGY STAR Award Winners,” said EPA Assistant Administrator for Air and Radiation Bill Wehrum. “Their innovation and leadership enhance America’s economic competitiveness. Reducing costly energy waste improves air quality and public health while protecting the environment.”
