VGroup has launched a model of its Fleet Cell technical management and marine support services, named Fleet Cell of the Future.
Redesigning the traditional model, Fleet Cell of the Future features improved performance design and an open-plan layout based on the latest in ergonomic research to enable full-team problem-solving, rather than focusing on a single user.
Fleet Cell of the Future is designed to work as a test bed for innovations by allowing the technical management team to measure operational, financial and customer key performance indicators (KPIs) for the current Fleet Cell model.
The technical management team can also measure the effectiveness of new approaches and technology using the solution.
Development of Fleet Cell of the Future is based on VGroup’s growth strategy that serves to improve customer and colleague experiences, as well as operational efficiency.

VGroup strategy, innovation and transformation director Jon Key said: “Digital transformation isn’t about giving everyone an iPad, putting giant screens on a wall to make a room look like a Nasa control room, or creating an app and saying job done.

“Little things, like stand-up meetings every day and giving everyone in the cell the permission and responsibility to solve problems, can have far more impact than a new piece of tech.”
VGroup also noted that it has already achieved improvements in the operational KPI’s for procurement, certification, defect reporting, and best-working practices within an existing Fleet Cell of 17 vessels using the new model.
