Valley College is set to offer a Cybersecurity Bachelor of Science degree beginning Aug. 20.

The Cybersecurity Bachelor of Science program, set to be offered online, will prepare graduates in less than three years to establish security and protection measures from those who are seeking to hack and infiltrate the personal, financial, professional, information and/or intellectual capital of organizations around the country, a press release stated.

Valley College staff said the program is being offered to help graduates of the program find employment in a variety of business environments including finance, healthcare, retail trade and government agencies.

After offering its first online program in 1997, Valley College now offers online medical diplomas, as well as degrees in business, medical, and now, cybersecurity.

Staff reported the Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity will include training by subject matter experts, hands-on live-server “Practice Labs” and an industry certification focus to best prepare students to successfully enter this fast-growing field.

Further, qualified students enrolled in the program will be eligible for a $10,000 scholarship. Staff said details on the scholarship are available in the Financial Aid office and the Catalog of the College on each of their campuses in Beckley, Martinsburg and Princeton.
